THE SECOND ENERGY SYMPOSIUM ON ENERGY TRANSITION
The Energy Symposium is a biennial event organized by the National Committee CIGRE Kosovo, designed to address the challenges of Energy Transition in Kosovo and the region.
OVERVIEW OF THE SECOND ENERGY SYMPOSIUM
In today’s era of significant energy transformations, where global energy demands are rising, and climate change becomes increasingly evident, addressing decarbonization and energy security as global challenges have never been more critical. The transition toward a sustainable and efficient energy system is paramount.
The Republic of Kosovo, as part of international efforts for decarbonization and sustainable development, faces unique challenges and opportunities in this regard. Transitioning to sustainable energy sources and adopting new technological solutions is not merely an objective but a necessity.
The energy transition is a complex and transformative process, encompassing not only technological innovation but also the adaptation of political, economic, and social strategies to build a sustainable energy future. Kosovo, as part of these global efforts, encounters distinctive challenges stemming from the need to diversify energy sources, reduce carbon emissions, and ensure energy supply security.
This Energy Symposium brings together representatives from key companies in the energy sector—including generation, transmission, and distribution—as well as experts, professionals, and other decision-makers to discuss the pivotal role of Energy Storage Systems in this transition and to foster an in-depth dialogue on Energy Transition in Kosovo. By gathering representatives of leading companies operating in energy generation, transmission, and distribution, the Symposium aims to promote a constructive dialogue to address the challenges and leverage the opportunities presented by the energy transition.
The primary focus of discussions will be the role of Energy Storage Systems in ensuring the stability of the power system and achieving strategic objectives for security and sustainability. These systems are not only a technological solution but also an essential component for guaranteeing the stability and security of Kosovo’s power system.
At this Symposium, we will address the challenges and opportunities associated with the implementation of these systems, while exchanging knowledge and best practices that can accelerate the transformation of our energy sector. Through in-depth discussions, analyses, and the sharing of experiences, we aim to identify the best strategies for the implementation of these systems and to expedite Kosovo’s energy transition. This symposium will contribute to raising awareness, exchanging knowledge, and fostering collaboration among key stakeholders in the energy sector. We are confident that this cooperation between key industry players will provide a strong foundation for a brighter energy future for Kosovo.
